3 Ways to Stay on Track for 2017

How are those new years resolutions treating you!?  Still holding on strong, or have we fallen off the tracks already?  If not, it is time to snap our bands and get our minds right!  Let's get back on track as Coach Joey is bringing us some more ideas on how you can stay on track this year!

==========

New Year New Me

“New Year, New Me”, one of the most popular quotes at the start of every New Year. Everyone seems to start the New Year off with determination, but then the train begins to slow down and get off track. All those resolutions remain to be unscathed and untouched and put on the back burner until the following year. Why do you think that is? What throws you off the tracks? Maybe the level of effort you are putting forth isn’t actually your absolute best effort. See, everyone is built to do “just enough”, but what is hard is to actually exert 100% of your effort. What people think is 100%, is really only 80%. That final 20% is left on the table and when times get tough, you give up. Here are 3 ways to stay the course, and stay focused on achieving your goals throughout the entire year.

1.      WRITE DOWN YOUR GOALS
You must have a plan of action for yourself. Studies show that you are more likely to achieve your goals when you physically write them down. I know the first thing everyone wants to write down is how much money you want to make. But is that really the top priority in your life? I want you to go much deeper than that. There are a plethora of things that can lead to you making a bundle of money, but if you don’t achieve the little things than the money will never come. Write down goals to better yourself, change other people’s lives, relationship goals, marriage goals, career goals. Those are just a few. Take action and start today.

2.      FIND YOUR WHY
If you do not have a “why” for why you do what you do, then you are never going to get to that level of maximum effort. Many people just go to work for the “paycheck”, but we were all created to do much more than that. By you just going to work because you “have to”, you are making someone else’s dreams become a reality. I want you to make YOUR dreams become a reality. We all have an extraordinary mind of creativity, but you MUST find your “why”, because that is going to be the driving force for why you do what you do.

3.      TAKE BABY STEPS, TRUST THE PROCESS
The better you are at making small changes, the easier it will be for you to keep going. I understand that everyone wants to be on top of the world. But that is not going to happen in 1 month, or 2 months, or 1 year, or 5 years. It might take you 10 years to reach a goal. As long as you get just a little bit better each day, you will get where you want to be. I compare a lot of things to baseball and fitness, like I explain to all of my hitters/athletes I teach, the place you are trying to get to will not happen overnight, or in one session. You have to trust the process and enjoy the process that it takes to get there. Strive to get 1% better each day, or each training session. NEVER put pressure on yourself that it “has to happen” in 2 months, because all you are doing is fooling yourself.

Thank you everyone for being a part of the Crucible Family! Coach Ryan and I cannot thank everyone enough for the support we receive day in and day out. This is an incredible journey we are on and we will continue to put our absolute 100% best effort into each and every one of you to get you where you want to go! God Bless!
